DETAILED TOUR PROGRAMME
DAY 1: DELHI/MUMBAI – BANGALORE (BY FLIGHT OR TRAIN)
Catch your flight or train for Bangalore. Arrive in Bangalore and meet with our representative with garland welcome. Later transfer to hotel and check into the hotel & relax. Later enjoy sightseeing in Bangalore if time permits like Tippu's palace, Bull Temple and Ulsoor Lake. Overnight stay in Bangalore.
DAY 2: BANGALORE – MYSORE (145 KM/ 3-4 HRS)
After breakfast drive to Mysore & enroute visit Srirangapatnam, the capital of Hyder Ali and his son Tippu Sultan. Arrive in Mysore and check into the hotel. Later visit Mysore palace famous for outstanding treasures and ivory inlaid doors. The interior is also lavishly decorated with stained glass, mirrors, pillars, paintings and jewels. Overnight stay in Mysore.
DAY 3: MYSORE – OOTY (165 KM/ 5 HRS)
After breakfast drive to Ooty, a well known hill station of Tamilnadu & called as “Queen of hill stations". Arrive in Ooty and check into the hotel. Day at leisure activity. Overnight stay in Ooty.
DAY 4: OOTY LOCAL SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast enjoy full day sightseeing in & around Ooty.
Visit Botanical garden: This garden was laid out in 1847 by the Marquis of Tweedale and is spread over 55 acres. Lush green well maintained lawns, rare tree species (like the cork tree which is probably the only such tree in India, the paper bark tree and the monkey puzzle tree - monkeys cannot climb this tree)
Ooty Lake: Ooty Lake stretches, in an irregular 'L' shape, for about two kilometres in length and varrying distances in width. At the far end is the Boat House where all kinds of boats are available for hire from eight in the morning to six in the evening.
Rose garden: Located less than a km from Charring Cross, the rose garden is laid on 10 acres of land. The garden has a collection of more than 1000 varieties of roses.
Pykara Falls: 19 km from Ooty. The river has a dam and power plant. There is a breathtaking scenery. The falls, about 6 km from the bridge on the main road.
Overnight stay in Ooty.
DAY 5: OOTY – COONOOR - OOTY (28 KM/ 1 HR)
After breakfast enjoy day excursion to Coonoor, is the second largest hill station in the Nilgiris, surrounded by tea plantations, at an altitude of 1839 metres. Its climate is milder than Ooty. It is a very popular hill station among tourists. Coonoor is essentially a small tea garden town where the weather remains pleasantly cool throughout the year. The main attraction is the Sim's Park, a small well maintained botanical garden that has several varieties of plants. It is about 19kms to the south of Ooty and is accessible by both train and road. Return back to Ooty for overnight stay.
DAY 6:OOTY – KODAIKANAL (265 KM/ 6-7 HRS DRIVE)
After breakfast drive to Kodaikanal, is one of the most popular hill resorts in India. It is a charming hill station, stands amidst sylvan beauty on the southern crest of the upper Palani Hills. Kodaikanal is situated at an altitude of about 2,133-m high and covers an area of 21.45-sq-km. The hill town is renowned for its educational institutions of international repute. The hill-plantain fruits and plums are known for their freshness and taste. Berijam Lake, one among the beautiful lakes of South India, spreads over an area of 24 hectares.
Arrive in Kodaikanal & check into the hotel & relax. Evening free for walking and other activities. Overnight stay in Kodaikanal.
DAY 7: KODAIKANAL SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast enjoy full day sightseeing in & around Kodaikanal.
Kodai Lake: One of the main attractions for the tourists of Kodaikanal is the Kodai Lake. The lake is situated at an elevation of 2285m above sea level and it looks magnificent with star shaped glittering water, in the midst of evergreen lush slopes. Today lakhs of tourists walk around, sail on, ride on horses & cycles and admire the Lake.
Kurinji Andavar Temple: IThis temple situated 3 kms from the lake, is a famous shrine dedicated to Lord Muruga. In Tamil literature Kurinji means 'hill region' and Andavar means 'God'. Hence Lord Muruga is referred as 'God of hill'.
Waterfalls: you see some of great waterfalls near Kodaikanal so our expert driver will take care for these waterfalls as per waterfalls situations.
Dolphin Nose: Dolphins nose is at a distance of 8 kms from the bus stand, one has to follow the route specified here.There is an old road after crossing Pambar Bridge near levinge stream. A rough curve rounds the hillside which leads to a point where a flat rock projects over an awful chesm of 6600 feet deep. This is Dolphins nose. On the way, beautiful views of plains and steepy rocky eascarpeints called rolling hills can be seen.Later return back to Hotel 7 overnight stay in Kodaikanal.
DAY 8: KODAIKANAL – MUNNAR (120 KM/ 3 HRS)
After breakfast drive to Munnar and check into the hotel. Munnar - breathtakingly beautiful - a haven of peace and tranquility - the idyllic tourist destination in God's own country. Munnar was the favored summer resort of the erstwhile British rulers in the colonial days. Unending expanse of tea plantations - pristine valleys and mountains- exotic species of flora and fauna. Later in the afternoon visit Tea gardens & explore Munnar town. Overnight in Munnar.
DAY 9: MUNNAR SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast leave for full day sightseeing around Munnar.
Mattupetty (13 km) Situated at a height of 1700 Mts , Mattupetty is famous for its highly specialised dairy farm, the Indo-swiss live stock project. Over 100 varietes of high yielding cattle are reared here.
Pothamedu (6 km) Pothamedu offers an excellent view of the tea, coffee and cardamom plantations in Munnar. The rolling hills, the lush mountain and the breathtaking scenery here is ideal for trekking and long mountain walks.
Devikulam (7 km) This idyllic hill station with its velvet lawns, exotic flora and fauna and the cool mountain air is a rare experience. The Sita Devi Lake with its mineral waters and picturesque surroundings is a good picnic spot.
Rajamala (15 km) The natural habitat of the Niligiri tahr , Rajamala is 2695 Mts above sea level. Half the world's population of the rare mountain goat or tahr which is fast becoming extinct is now found here.
DAY 10: MUNNAR – THEKKADY (125 KM/ 3 HRS)
After breakfast Proceed to Thekkady and check into the hotel. Thekkady is considered a heaven for natural spices such as black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon and clove. The main attraction in thekkady is boating on the lake and the Mullai Periyar Dam. Boating will take approximate 2 hours and you can also get rare glimpses of wild animals. Enjoy sunset boat ride in the lake. Overnight stay in Thekkady.
DAY 11: THEKKADY – ALLEPPEY (HOUSEBOAT) (120 KM/ 3 HRS)
After breakfast drive to Alleppey, a famous town for Backwaters & beautiful Houseboat. A perfect destination for a memorable trip in Kerala. Check into a houseboat that will take you through the sleepy backwaters of Kerala. Enjoy nature from your beautiful houseboat passes by charming villages, lush green paddy fields and other scenic delights. Stay overnight in your houseboat besides enjoying the best food in a traditional way.
DAY 12: ALLEPPEY – COCHIN (80 KM/ 2 HRS)
After breakfast check out from Houseboat and drive to Cochin Airport or railway station for your onward journey.
