DETAILED TOUR PROGRAMME:
DAY 1: ARRIVE JODHPUR (BY FLIGHT/ TRAIN)
Arrive in Jodhpur, meet to our Royal Classic Tours representative with garland welcome at Airport/ Railway station & transfer to Hotel & relax. Jodhpur is the second largest city in the Rajasthan. It is called the Gateway to Thar, as it is literally on the edge of the Thar Desert. It is also called the “Sun City” as the sun shines very bright. It is also referred to as the “Blue City” due to the blue-painted houses around the Fort.
In the afternoon we take a guided tour of Jodhpur, visiting the Majestic Mehrangarh Fort. The fort is located in the heart of the old city on 125-metre high & over 5km wide hill. After that visit Jaswant Thada (also known as Taj Mahal of Jodhpur), within the main cenotaph are the portraits of various Jodhpur rulers. Later proceed for the visit of colourful market of Jodhpur & see the tiny shops line both sides of the narrow lanes in these markets. You can find textiles, silver, handicrafts, aromatic spices, vegetables and Indian sweets in these shops. Later back to hotel & relax. Overnight in Hotel.
DAY 2: JODHPUR – BIKANER (245 KM/ about 5 Hrs drive)
Morning after breakfast, drive to Bikaner, a famous Desert city of India. Enroute visit a very charming village called “Nevra” which you would struggle to find on a map. In Nevra Village you see the typical Rajasthani people in colorful traditional dresses & their daily rural life style & have opportunities to interact with them and learn about their way of life. You have also the opportunity to see the Rabbits, blackbucks, Dears roaming freely in the area & also enjoy the camel ride in village. You have option for some pretty stunning photos of the sand dunes, Mountains, small lakes & breath taking view of the whole village from the top of the Mountain. Later drive continue for Bikaner. On arrival in Bikaner, check into the hotel & relax. Afternoon start your sightseeing of Bikaner including Junagarh Fort which is richly decorated with mirror work, paintings and outstanding stone carvings, the architectural brilliance of the fort is worth seeing & visit famous Royal residence of ruler of Bikaner, Lallgarh Palace. Overnight in Hotel.
DAY 3: BIKANER - JAISALMER (320 KM/ about 6-7 Hrs drive)
After breakfast drive to Jaisalmer, a famous city for Camels & Sand Dunes. Jaisalmer is also known as “The Golden City” because the town stands on a ridge of yellowish sandstone, crowned by a fort, which contains the palace and several ornate Jain temples. On arrival in Jaisalmer, check into the hotel & relax. Overnight in Hotel.
DAY 4: JAISALMER LOCAL SIGHTSEEING – SAM SAND DUNES
Morning after breakfast, start your sightseeing of Jaisalmer including the old town of Jaisalmer & visit Jaisalmer Fort, built in the year 1156 by Rawal Jaisal. Perched on 80m high hill, housing the entire township within its ramparts, it is the only "Living Fort" in India. Later visit beautifully sculptured Jain Temples of the 12th-15th century & after that visit magnificent Patwon Ki Haveli in the heart of the town & it is virtually the showpiece of Jaisalmer's legendary architectural wealth. Later we drive down 40 km away from Jaisalmer to Sam to take the Camel ride & overnight stay on the Sand Dunes of Sam while the sun is setting down. Overnight in Camp with attach toilet & bathroom.
DAY 5: JAISALMER – DELHI (BY TRAIN)
After breakfast in Camp, enjoy a short walk on the soft & golden Sand Dunes. Later drive to visit Kuldhara & Khaba villages, that there were 84 such villages that the Paliwal Brahmins abandoned centuries ago. Later back to Jaisalmer & you will be transferred to Jaisalmer Railway station to board overnight train for Delhi. Overnight in Train.
